West Side Story is a modern-day version of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. It is a musical tale of street-wise kids, rumbles, teen-age love and ethnic tensions. The story takes place on the streets of Manhattan in the late 1950's. Bitter tensions between two gangs, the "Americanized" Jets and Puerto Rican Sharks, boil over when Maria, the sister of Bernardo, who is the leader of the Sharks, falls in love with Tony, who is the co-founder of the Jets.

Many of the musical numbers written for this play have become favorites. "Tonight", "Somewhere", "Maria", and "I Feel Pretty" are just a few of the songs that audiences will recognize as our talented young performers sing, dance and act in this American musical classic!
