The townspeople have deserted the kingdom in the middle of the night as the curse of the evil fairy is about to come to pass — today is the day everyone will fall asleep forever. Thus begins the telling of this classic tale. The mayor and the royal family can hardly manage to eat breakfast, much less run the kingdom without townspeople. A fluttery queen faints for the first of many times, and the mayor picks a doctor and nurse from the audience to pat the queen’s hand and give her smelling salts. Obviously, the audience’s help will be needed throughout the show!

Produced by special arrangement with The Dramatic Publishing Company, Woodstock, Ill.

Auditions will be held on November 6 at 10:00 AM in the Roseville Theater.

The Fairytale Company is looking for adult actors (age 16 and up) who have previous stage experience and who love to bring the joy of live theatre to children.

Open auditions for this second show of the 2010/2011 season will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at 10 a.m. at the Roseville Theater. You will be taught a song to sing for your audition but bring 16 bars of your own sheet music to sing, as needed. The director will choose scenes from the script for cold readings. Callbacks may be arranged, if needed.

IMPORTANT NOTE: You must be able to perform the entire run of five Saturdays for the general public AND ten selected weekday mornings for school field trips. Adult actors will be paid a stipend for the ten weekday morning performances of Sleeping Beauty. See the website for field trip and Saturday performance dates.
