Corie and Paul are two young people deeply in love and newly married. Theyve had a lovely honeymoon and are ready to move into their first home together to begin the joys of wedded bliss. Corie sees married life as the beginning of adventure. Paul is ready to get serious and grab adult responsibilities with both hands.

Real life is about to smack them upside the head.

Neil Simon wrote Barefoot in the Park in 1963. It was his second play and so popular (it ran for four years), that it was made into a film four years later starring Jane Fonda and Robert Redford. His way of putting mismatched people together in a situation thats both perfectly normal and yet ridiculous has made Simon the second most performed playwright (after Shakespeare).
