Below are the upcoming auditions at the Magic Circle
Theatre. The Open Auditions are for our Mainstage
productions and are open to anyone.
Auditions will be held at The Roseville Theatre,
241 Vernon Street, Roseville
or The Tower Theatre, 421 Vernon Street, Roseville
on the dates shown.
Dates are subject to change - please check this page again a couple of
weeks before the audition you are interested in.
We do not audition with prepared monologues. The director will choose
scenes from the script for "cold readings."
Clothing and shoes should allow actors/actresses to move easily.
Bare feet are NEVER allowed!
For Musical auditions, be prepared with 16 bars of a song from
a Broadway show (but not from the show you are auditioning for),
and come dressed for movement. If at all possible, plan to attend
both days of auditions. An accompanist will be provided.
Headshots and resumés
are not required but useful if you have one.
The normal rehearsal schedule for Mainstage productions is
Monday through Thursday evenings from 7:30pm to 10:00pm.
Bring a list of dates that would conflict with rehearsals.
Anyone with dates that conflict with actual performances need not audition.
For more information, please call the theatre at
782-1777.

Seussical the Musical is a lively
and poignant musical based on many
of the books written by Dr. Seuss including, The Cat in the Hat,
Horton Hears a Who!, Horton Hatches an Egg, Yertle the Turtle and
Other Stories, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, The Butter Battle
Book, and Green Eggs and Ham. The story is narrated by the Cat in
the Hat but revolves around a huge cast of Dr. Seuss characters
including Horton, Gertrude McFuzz, Mazie LaBird, Jojo, The
Wickersham Brothers, The Sour Kangaroo, The Mayor of Whoville, all
of the Whos and a very large chorus of other equally kooky
characters.
If you are interested in auditioning you need to
come prepared with 16 bars of a song from a broadway musical but not
from Seussical. Make sure to bring the sheet music as the musical
director will be accompanying you and auditioning a capella is
discouraged. Also make sure to wear or bring clothes and shoes to
dance in. Dancing barefoot will not be allowed. A headshot and
resume are not required but are encouraged.
Auditions are open to all actors aged 10 to 19. Auditions will be
held at the Roseville Theatre on Monday December 15th and Tuesday
December 16th at 5:00 p.m. Call backs will be held on Wednesday,
December 17th. The cost for the workshop is $200 per student and
payment is required once you are placed in the cast. You will not be
given a role for Seussical until the full payment is made.
Rehersals will begin on January 12th at 5:00 p.m. at the
Roseville Theatre and rehersals are generally Monday, Tuesday and
Wednesday's from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. The director will give more
specific rehersal information once the show is cast. Performances
will be held at the Roseville Theatre on February 20, 21, 27, 28,
March 6 and 7th at 7:30 p.m. and on February 21st, 22nd , 28th,
March 1st and March 7th at 2:00 p.m. If you have any conflicts with
performances or tech week you should consider not auditioning for
this show.
We hope to see you at auditions!
