Roseville, CA May 8, 2009. Oliver! opened in London in 1960 and immediately became a huge hit, running over 2000 performances. The story of the orphaned Oliver, Fagin and his troupe of pick-pockets (including the Artful Dodger), the sweet Nancy and evil Bill Sikes now takes over Roseville under the guidance of director Brent Null and, music director Eric Bellah. This production is good for the whole family, keeping in mind it depicts the rough lives of people in poverty in England in the 1800s. The music is memorable and the story wrenches the heart as it carries you along. Oliver! will play Friday and Saturday evenings at 8:00 and Sunday afternoons at 2:00, May 22 - June 20, 2009, in the Tower Theater, 421 Vernon St., Roseville.
