Press Release
December 31, 1969
Due to popular demand, Magic Circle Theatre is extending the run of Neil Simon's Chapter Two by three performances. This is the first time in Magic Circle history that we have extended the run of a production. Word of mouth has grown the audiences for this wonderful comedy (opening with 40 people in the audience and recently performing for over 200). "My friends tell me I have to see this show!" has been the common refrain when people call to purchase tickets. We are happy to give this particular production an additional three performances to continue to grow! Originally scheduled to end on Sat., Feb. 21, we are now adding Sun. Feb. 22 along with Fri., Feb. 27 and Sat., Feb. 28. Considered one of Neil Simon's best plays, Chapter Two is a semi-autobiographical story that has as much poignancy as it does laughs. George is trying to face life again after the death of his wife of 14 years. His brother, Leo is convinced he needs a little female companionship to help things along. Jennie just ended a six-year marriage (five of which were spent in therapy). She is NOT interested in dating again, in spite of all the efforts of her best friend, Faye. What better should happen than these two people, over-loaded with emotional baggage, meet and fall in love? Chapter Two plays Friday and Saturday evenings at 8:00 and Sunday afternoons at 2:00, continuing through Feb. 28, 2009, in the Tower Theater, 421 Vernon St., Roseville. Tickets are $22 general admission, $20 seniors, and $15 students. Call (916) 782-1777 for tickets. This play contains adult language and situations.
