This
warm-hearted, humorous and affecting study of the unlikely relationship
between an aging, crotchety white Southern lady and a proud, soft spoken
black man won the 1988 Pulitzer Prize and the Outer Critics Circle
Award. After demolishing her car, Daisy is forced by her son to accept a
chauffeur. When she meets Hoke, the chauffeur, she finds she has to
accept a lot more.
