Domult - A dominoes game for 2 - 4 players
by
Requirements
- A 6-6 set of Dominoes (28 tiles).
- A notepad and pencil.
Set Up
- Remove the double-blank domino, then turn the remaining tiles face down and thoroughly mix them up.
- For 2 players: remove 1 tile from the stock and place it unseen to one side.
- For 3 players: remove no tiles.
- For 4 players: remove 3 tiles from the stock and place them unseen to one side.
- Place the double-blank tile face up in the center of the table.
- Each player draws 3 tiles from the stock and places them face up in front of him. (Variation: keep the tiles hidden from the other players)
Game Play
- Players take turns to play a domino from their hand onto the table.
- The domino must be placed so that one of its two ends is adjacent to a matching number already on the table. Thus the first tile to be played must be a Blank-something.
- If the player cannot play a domino, he draws one from the stock and his turn ends.
- The player scores the sum of the pips on the tile he played, plus all matching adjacent values. Keep a running total for each player.
- The player finishes his turn by drawing one tile from the stock to bring his hand back up to 3 tiles, unless the stock is exhausted.
End Game
- Once all the tiles have been played:
- For 2 players: the player with the lower score takes and plays the 1 tile that was placed to one side at the beginning of the game.
- For 3 players: game over.
- For 4 players: all players except the one with the highest score each take one of the tiles set aside at the beginning of the game. The player to the left of the high-scorer plays his final tile first, and play continues clockwise.
Game Over
- Player with the highest score wins
