Stephen L. Kolb

Stephen L. Kolb is making his second appearance at Magic Circle Repertory Theatre, reprising his Birdsall award winning role of "Tevye" he first played in the 1996 production of Fiddler.

Steve's professional stage credits include the Preacher in Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and "Mordcha" in Fiddler for California Musical Theatre's Music Circus, and "Cinderella's Father" in CMT's Broadway Series Into The Woods. He appeared as "Old Fezziwig" and "Ghost of Christmas Present" in Sacramento Theatre Company's A Christmas Carol. Among his favorite credits in Sacramento area community theater are "Ernie Cusack" in Neil Simon's Rumors at Garbeau's Dinner Theatre, "Amos Hart (Mr. Cellophane)" in the Davis Musical Theatre Company production of Chicago, and "Aaron Katz" in the Sacramento City Actor's Theatre production of The World of Sholem Alecheim.

Steve is the father of two students of musical theatre who, he notes, "sing and dance better than anyone I know."

Of the 2002 production of Fiddler, Steve continued "Serving and supporting the visual and performing arts enriches our lives and provides a connection through which we can realize our shared humanity. Sholem Alecheim's observations of life in Anatevka tells a timeless story of personal and cultural conflict, challenge and growth that all people of faith can understand. I am grateful to Bob and Rosemarie Gerould for the opportunity to work with a cast of players dedicated to providing a moving and memorable theatrical experience."

Stephen is appearing in Fiddler by special arrangement with Actor's Equity Association.
