Diane Bartlett

Diane Bartlett

Director Diane Bartlett has a passion for the arts and particularly the performing arts. She has been a theater enthusiast in nearly every capacity, including acting, directing, writing, and administrating. A former SARTA board member, Bartlett directed the annual ELLY awards for five consecutive years. During that time she redesigned the award (still in use today) and took the popular community theater awards show to the Crest Theater. Her extensive theater involvement includes numerous productions as an actress and a director in theaters throughout North Carolina and California.

Bartlett was a part of Magic Circle's grassroots, theater-in-the-round developmental 'stage' when it was located in a space on Sunrise Boulevard. Too many years ago to mention, she played the lead in Magic Circle's production of Mary, Mary and directed several children's theater productions including Goldilocks and Pinocchio.

Now that her husband is part of Roseville's business community, Bartlett also is anxious to play an active role in the community and will return to Magic Circle as the director of Broken Up. Bartlett says that she approaches each theater arts project as if she was creating a gift for the audience. "I love the whole creative process from start to finish on any level …professional and community theater, high school and church productions …comedies, dramas, classic Shakespeare …acting or directing." She will direct two more productions this season including Sylvia and Dining Room.
