Dan Lee
Dan first appeared at the Magic Circle Theatre in their production of My Fair Lady where he played Professor Zoltan "I Speak 32 Languages" Karpathy. He also played all 12 Jurors in Chicago where he wore an assortment of funny hats. His most recent role was as the inebriated Elijah J. Whitney in Anything Goes. He also played the ringmaster Joseph in the Youth Workshop production of Come Follow the Band where he sang veryveryfast. Dan has also worked at Capitol Opera in The King and I (as the fearsome guard Hoi), West Side Story (as the Chinese Puerto Rican gang member Pepe), Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (as Pharaoh who does an Elvis imitation), and in the operas Salome (where, as Erster Soldat, he wore essentially a short dress; the director told him it was a tunic, but he begs to differ) and La Boheme (where, as the beloved toy maker Parpignol, he wore high heels and tights; the director told him that's what his character would have worn in those times, but again, he begs to differ). He was in The King and I again except at Garbeau's Dinner Theater where he played Lun Tha, the young lover who gets a couple of pretty songs but not the pretty girl. (Darn it!) He also played the Burgermeister in Pamela Hayes Classical Ballet School's production of Coppelia and the butler in their Nutcracker. Since these were non-dancing roles, he did not have to wear tights, although he did wear knee highs as the Burgermeister. Productions
