Cedric Coward
![]() Cedrick Coward, North Carolina native began his musical and singing career in the church at a very early age. He attended Mt Olive Business College, Mt Olive, N.C., where he was a member of both the Concert and Black Gospel Choirs. He also performed in various musicals. After college, he joined the US Air Force in 1985 and became a member of the vocal group "Hot Pursuit". The group traveled extensively throughout the country winning countless vocal competitions to include two prestigious Roger Awards, the Air Force equivalency of the Grammy. Cedrick's recording/album/compact disc credits include: 1983 "Heaven", co-arranged and performed with Gospel great Bonita Burney, of Kinston, N.C., 1994 "Stronger Than A Flame", co-arranged and performed backup with Blues artist Earl Thomas, of San Diego, CA., 1998 "All I Want", co-arranged and performed backup with Blues artist Veronica Klaus, of San Francisco, CA. 1995 "Home Cooking", co-arranged and performed backup with Blues legend, Candye Kane, of San Diego, CA., 1998 "May I", with Jazz contemporary artist, Eddie Hall/featuring Hot Pursuit, San Francisco, CA.; Theatrical credits include: California Music Theatre, MLK Project 2004/2005, in the role of Albert/Choirman The Dream Goes On. The Demon Addition, Wings of Freedom, Images Theatre Company, Sacramento. Smokey Joes Café, in the role of Ken, RSP 24th Street Theatre 2004 (Elly Nominee). 2000 - 2002 with Lorraine Hansberry Theatre production of, Black Nativity in the role of the No Good Shepherd; 2003 production of Black & Blue a musical revue, in the role of Nightclub Singer, featuring Faye Carol, Ella Jamerson-Haynes and Clara McDaniel. Cedrick has also performed for a number of charitable organizations: Big Brothers & Sisters, We Care Bay Area, Mothers Against Drunk Drivers, Global Partners, and Mayor Willie Browns pre-electoral parties, as well as several subscription events for Lorraine Hansberry Theatre.
