The role of Sandy in Annie is shared by five lovely canines: Ashley,
Metro, Briona, Windy, and Reva. This is their first stage
appearance and they are thrilled with the opportunity to perform at
Magic Circle. Ashley, Metro, and Briona are Assistance Dogs in
Training for Canine Companions for Independence in Santa Rosa. When
they have completed all of their training, they will assist a disabled
adult or child, most likely someone in a wheelchair or with a hearing
disability. Reva and Windy are certified Delta Society therapy dogs.
They spend their time visiting care homes and hospital patients. Many
thanks to their handlers: Suzanne Wharton, Jill Quan, Rachel
Rosenthal, Jean Kelly, and Rachel & Hold Gedeit for attending all the
rehearsals and working with the cast and crew.
By the way, while this is their first time on-stage, all five dogs have
attended Magic Circle productions in the past as part of their
training. To find out more about these wonderful animals and this
