Brian Lewis

Brian made his Civic Theatre West debut in 1992, playing a presidential candidate in The Second Lady. Since then he has appeared in 14 Civic West main stage productions, including The Sound of Music (Captain Von Trapp), Chicago (Billy Flynn), On Golden Pond, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Hello Dolly, Kiss Me Kate and My Fair Lady. He is a three-time Birdsall Award recipient: for his leading role as Bob Phillips in How the Other Half Loves; for his supporting role as Vittorio Vidal in Sweet Charity; and for his leading role as Andrew Makepeace Ladd III in Love Letters. One of Brian’s favorite roles was Adolph in Civic West’s 2008 production of The Last Night of Ballyhoo, for which he received a Birdsall nomination. Brian served on the nonprofit theatre’s board of directors from 1998 to 2005, including two terms as president, and again from 2009 to 2010. He currently serves as the theatre’s consulting director.
